What is Malaysia's Best?

Introduced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM),
Malaysia's Best is a national recognition and branding initiative symbolising the quality and safety of food. It applies to Malaysian agricultural products certified as high-quality, safe, and compliant with both domestic and international standards and regulations.

Agricultural products are monitored from farm management practices that adhere to myGAP certification or equivalent standards and comply with the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority Regulations (Grading, Packaging, and Labelling of Agricultural Products) 2008 – known as the GPL Regulations.

Eligibility to Apply

Individual Farmers

Applicants who personally manage agricultural production on their own myGAP-certified and accredited farms.

Practice good marketing practices by adhering to FAMA's GPL regulations.

Farmers and Marketers

Applicants who manage agricultural production and market products from their own farms, companies, or leased/legally owned land that is myGAP-certified and accredited.

Practice good marketing practices by adhering to FAMA's GPL regulations.

Includes farmers, retailers, wholesalers, and exporters.

Marketers

Applicants who ensure agricultural products come from leased farms or have permission from farm owners whose farms are myGAP-certified and accredited.

Participation Requirements

myGAP Certification

Applicants must possess myGAP or myOrganic certification under DOA, DVS, DOF, or equivalent agencies.

GPL Compliance
Malaysia’s Best ensures that local crops, livestock, and fisheries products recognised for their quality and safety comply with FAMA's Grading, Packaging, and Labelling (GPL) regulations.
Local Produce

Only locally sourced agricultural products intended for fresh marketing are eligible.

Farm Ownership

Submit a copy of the cooperation agreement or lease agreement if using a farm owned by another farmer.

Fixed Premises

Possess a fixed or temporary premises to carry out grading, packaging, and labelling activities.

Renewal Period

Renewal applications must be submitted within six (6) months before the expiry date of the Malaysia’s Best certificate.

Online Registration

New Applications and Renewal Applications must be submitted via the Malaysia’s Best website.

  • If not approved: The process ends.

Notifying Approval Decision

Applicants are informed of the approval decision.

Printing Malaysia’s Best Certificate

The Malaysia’s Best certificate is printed for successful applicants.
