Malaysia’s Best is a national recognition and branding initiative introduced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) for local agricultural products. It ensures the quality and safety of agricultural produce that meets both domestic and international standards.
Eligible applicants include individual farmers, farmer-marketers, and marketers who comply with myGAP certification or equivalent standards and adhere to FAMA's GPL regulations.
Applicants must have myGAP, myOrganic, or equivalent certification. They need to comply with GPL Regulations and have fixed or temporary premises for grading, packaging, and labelling. Applicants must also submit proof of ownership or a lease agreement if using another party's farm.
Eligible products are local agricultural produce marketed fresh, such as vegetables, fruits, and livestock products, cultivated in accordance with good agricultural practices.
The process begins with the receipt and review of the application, followed by compliance inspection, preparation of a report, evaluation by the approval committee, notification of the approval decision, and finally, the printing of the Malaysia’s Best certificate.
This recognition helps boost consumer confidence in the quality and safety of products, adds value, expands local and international markets, and increases demand for local agricultural produce.
The validity period of the Malaysia’s Best certificate is subject to the stipulated conditions. Renewal applications must be submitted within six (6) months before the certificate's expiry date.
New applications and renewals can be submitted online through the official Malaysia’s Best website.
Malaysia’s Best ensures quality control starting at the farm level, adhering to good agricultural practices such as myGAP Certification and GPL Regulations. This guarantees that certified products meet strict quality and safety standards.
